A Mature Weekend

How was your weekend? Mine felt very mature. This was one of the few weekends this summer that wasn't jam-packed with plans. So we decided to just relax and take it as it came. We mainly sat outdoors (various patios, decks and balconies) and had casual drinks. Nothing crazy, just good company, great conversation, and cold bevies.

You can't really beat that in the summer. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

TFC Date

Ok all my fellow non-sporty girls. Remember the time you pretended to like sports to impress a boy? (Yes, just like in the movies). I do, too. I didn’t pretend to be an expert or anything, but, upon finding out that Nick’s favourite football (soccer) team is the Liverpool Football Club, I made sure that he knew that my family is from Liverpool and that I have a jersey (and therefore must be a huge fan). Weekends filled with early morning soccer games ensued. Sometimes I watched, other times I napped. Then something happened. I actually started to like it. I understood what was happening and I cared about who won. This is a true case of fake it ‘til you make it.

So, at our friends Stag & Doe, when Nick won TFC (Toronto Football Club) tickets, I was pumped. Here’s some shots of our sporty date-night.

Ps. I’d pick a TFC game over a baseball game any day (sorry Jays!)

Cashew Thai Quinoa

Last weekend my friend had a Pinterest Party. What's that, you ask? Well, it's a party where everyone makes a dish or two that they found on Pinterest and then we all get to feast. Let's be honest, how likely is it that we're going to get to make every single recipe we've pinned on our food/gotta make this/yummy boards.

I decided to make this Thai Quinoa. It was quite delicious (if I do say so myself). I plan on making it again (especially because I have tons of the ingredients left). It's fresh, filling, easy and a bright dish for summer.
