The scene: Blurred Lines is on the radio, I'm driving but crazy-dancing/waving my arms around.

Nick: You love that song, eh?

Me: I do!
<dancing begins>
Do you like my dance? Does it make you love me even more??

N: Oh ya babe, you're like a pig on heat.

<pause to digest this>

M: A PIG? I'm a pig?!

N: No, you're not a pig, it's just like, you're a pig on heat.

M: I don't think that's a thing.

N: Of course it is. It's a saying. It's an English thing. sidebar: someone English please verify this for me.

M: Are you trying to say a pig in heat?

N: No. ON. Like, you put a pig on heat.

M: Umm, well there's two sayings, do you mean 'a pig in shit' or 'a dog in heat'?

N: No. ....A dog? What's that about? What's the difference between a pig or a dog on heat.

M: No a dog IN heat.

N: Oh. Nope. That's not it either.

Then we just laughed and laughed.

How To: Gallery Wall

I'm a big lover of gallery walls. In fact, I even sent pictures of gallery walls to Bobbi for my blog design inspiration.
So with a giant blank wall in our new place, I knew I had an opportunity for a gallery wall.

Before - sorry this picture is terrible

I started by gathering all the items I wanted to display on the wall, and then arranged them on the floor.

Piece by piece we started to add them to the wall, starting with the bottom row.

The key is to be flexible. As I was adding pieces to the wall, it wasn't exactly as I had it on the floor, but that's ok. My personal preference is a look that isn't so 'perfect' (ie. I don't measure).

My favourite part is that I get to look at so many things that make me smile, or remind me of a great adventure, every day.

Canada Day

On yet another birthday for Canada it's a good time to reflect on just how lucky I am to call this country my home. This is the greatest country in the world and we who live here are privileged.
Happy birthday Canada, you beauty.
